Her father, Steve Harvey, has been married to three different women over the course of his life. He exchanged wedding vows with Brandi’s mother, Marcia, in 1980. Their son, Brandi’s younger brother, Broderick Harvey Jr, was born in 1991. In 1994, the couple parted ways citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, Brandi and Karli were only 12 years old.

In May 2017, it was reported that Shackelford has filed a $60 million lawsuit against Steve for child endangerment and torture.
Steve’s current wife is Marjorie Bridges, whom he married in 2007. While the couple does not have any children together, Steve has served as the father figure to her three children, Morgan (born 1987), Jason (born 1991), and Lori (born 1997), from previous relationships.
