Ambyr Childers is an American actress who has garnered fame for playing Susan Atkins in the NBC crime-drama series ‘Aquarius’, Ashley Rucker in the Showtime crime-drama ‘Ray Donovan’, and Candace Stone in the Netflix thriller series ‘You’. A native of Arizona, Childers grew up in Murrieta, California. She made her screen debut in a 2000 episode of 'S Club 7 in L.A.', a British TV series that aired on BBC. In 2003, she debuted on the big screen in the comedy-drama ‘Carolina’. She landed her first significant role in 2006 when she was cast as Colby Chandler in the ABC daytime soap opera ‘All My Children’. Childers subsequently starred in a series of films before she was cast in ‘Ray Donovan’. In 2014, she was nominated for the Chainsaw Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Iris Parker in the 2013 horror film ‘We Are What We Are’. She was cast in ‘You’ as a recurring cast member in season one of the show. In season two, she joined the main cast.

Ambyr Childers was 12 years old when she debuted on the small screen in the season two episode, ‘Clever Camp’, of BBC’s ‘S Club 7 in L.A.’. Originally known as ‘L.A. 7,’ the series revolved around the popular British pop group S Club 7. At the age of 14, she appeared in her first film, the 2003 comedy-drama ‘Carolina’. She portrayed the younger version of the eponymous character while Julia Stiles was cast as the adult version. That year, she was also cast in the comedy film ‘Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star’.
In 2006, she joined the cast of ABC’s daytime soap opera ‘All My Children’ as Colby Chandler. The daughter of Adam Chandler (David Canary) and Liza Colby (Marcy Walker, Alice Haining, and Jamie Luner), Colby is introduced as a rebellious teenager who gradually becomes a sensible adult over the course of the series. Childers is one of the several actresses to play the character. She left the show in 2008 after appearing in 139 episodes.
Childers was absent from both the small and the big screens for the ensuing three years. She returned in 2011 in the sci-fi drama ‘Love’, portraying an American astronaut. Her other cinematic credits include the sport-drama ‘All Things Fall Apart’ (2011), the crime-drama ‘House of the Rising Sun’ (2011), the action-drama ‘Setup’ (2011), the comedy-drama ‘Lay the Favorite’ (2012), the horror-thriller ‘Playback’ (2012), the action-drama ‘Freelancers’ (2012), the drama ‘The Master’ (2012), and the action-drama ‘Gangster Squad’ (2013).
She lent her voice to Trixie the Fox in the English version of the Italian animated film ‘Pinocchio’ (2012). In the 2013 horror-thriller ‘We Are What We Are’, she shared screen space with Bill Sage, Julia Garner, and Kelly McGillis. A remake of the 2010 Mexican film of the same name, it received widespread critical acclaim. In 2013, she also got the chance to work with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in ‘2 Guns’.
Childers’ first appearance as Ashley Rucker in Showtime’s crime-drama ‘Ray Donovan’ was in the pilot episode (2013). Rucker is the mistress of the obnoxious movie producer Stu Feldman (Josh Pais). Childers went on to appear in eight more episodes of the show. In 2014, she provided the voice for Jonah’s mother in the English version of the Scandinavian animated film ‘Beyond Beyond’. She also served as a voice-over artist in the English versions of the Mexican animated feature ‘Guardians of Oz’ (2015) and the Chinese animated feature ‘Arctic Adventure: On Frozen Pond’ (2016). She also lent her voice to the Human Queen in the animated adventure family film ‘Elephant Kingdom’ (2016).
She worked with Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane in the 2015 science fiction direct-to-video film ‘Vice’. That year, she also appeared in the short film ‘Blackbird’. She has played various small roles in TV shows like ‘Legends’ (2014), ‘Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders’ (2016), and ‘The Magicians’ (2019). In 2017, Childers was cast opposite Keegan Allen in the telefilm ‘A Moving Romance’.
In NBC’s period crime-drama ‘Aquarius’ (2015-16) and the accompanying web miniseries ‘Aquarius: The Summer of Love’, Childers portrayed the notorious convicted murderer and a member of Charles Manson’s family, Susan “Sadie” Atkins. In Netflix’s psychological thriller ‘You’, Childers portrays Candace Stone, the former girlfriend of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley).

Family & Personal Life
Born on July 18, 1988, in Cottonwood, Arizona, USA, Ambyr Childers and her two sisters spent much of their childhood in Murrieta, California. She was a student of Vista Murrieta High School.
In 2009, Childers exchanged wedding vows with film and television producer Randall Emmett. They have two daughters together, London (born 2010) and Rylee (born 2013). They were married for about six years when Emmett went to court demanding a divorce from Childers. It was finalised in December 2017.
Childers and fellow actress, Kate Bosworth, launched Ambyr Childers Jewelry in 2015. The brand produces delicate jewellery that melds Childers' Native American heritage with Bosworth's "essential cool-girl vibe".
