Rob Brydon started his acting career as ‘Long John Silver’ in the 1993 British animated television series ‘The Legends of Treasure Island.’ The following year, he starred in the television drama film ‘The Healer.’ After making small appearances in films like ‘First Knight’ (1995), ‘Martha – Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence’ (1998), ‘24 Hour Party People’ (2002), ‘Cruise of the Gods’ (2002), and ‘Shaun of the Dead’ (2004), Brydon grabbed a lead role in the 2005 British comedy film ‘A Cock and Bull Story.’ The film received critical acclaim upon release and Brydon's performance received a thumbs up. That same year, he joined the main cast of the British comedy television series ‘Supernova’ as ‘Dr. Paul Hamilton.’
Thereafter, Brydon appeared in several television series and shows, such as ‘Jack Dee Live at the Apollo’ (2005), ‘Have I Got News for You’ (2006), ‘Dawn French's Boys Who Do Comedy’ (2007), ‘Heroes and Villains: Napoleon’ (2007), and ‘Horne & Corden’ (2009). In 2009, he joined the British comedy panel show ‘Would I Lie to You?’ as a presenter. Brydon has hosted every episode on the show from series 3 onwards.
In 2016, he starred as ‘Gryff’ in the American fantasy action-adventure film ‘The Huntsman: Winter's War’ directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. The film was panned by critics and was an average success at the box office. He was next seen in films like ‘Swimming with Men’ (2018), ‘Days of the Bagnold Summer’ (2019), ‘The Snail and the Whale’ (2019), and ‘Roald & Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse’ (2020).
Rob Brydon was last seen in the British crime drama television series ‘McDonald and Dodds’ in 2021. He is all set to appear in the Shekhar Kapur-directed upcoming British romantic comedy ‘What's Love Got to Do With It?’
