Nicole Kidman is an Australian actress and producer who started her career with the 1983 Australian film 'Bush Christmas' and made her Hollywood debut opposite Tom Cruise in the sports action drama film 'Days of Thunder' (1990). She continued to appear in lead roles in movies like 'Far and Away' (1992) and 'Batman Forever' (1995), and earned her first 'Golden Globe Award' for portraying the homicidal weather forecaster in 'To Die For' (1995).
She appeared in Stanley Kubrick's last film, the critically acclaimed erotic thriller 'Eyes Wide Shut' (1999). Her 2001 musical 'Moulin Rouge!' earned her another 'Golden Globe' and her first 'Academy Award' nomination. She won her third 'Golden Globe' and her first 'Oscar' the very next year for portraying Virginia Woolf in the drama 'The Hours'. She continued to appear in successful films such as 'The Others' (2001), 'Cold Mountain' (2003), 'Dogville' (2003), ‘The Interpreter’ (2005), ‘Bewitched’ (2005), 'Australia' (2008), 'Rabbit Hole' (2010) and 'The Paperboy' (2012).
