Mughal-E-Azam is a historical romantic drama film which takes us to the 16th century. It revolves around the Mughal Prince Saleem, who falls for a dancer in his court. Even though he wants nothing more than to be with her, his father, the Mughal Emperor Akbar, doesn’t approve of their relationship. This leads to a big conflict between father and son.    

Vijay is an orphaned atheist who falls for Meeradevi, a married religious woman. However, she not only rejects him, but asks him to stay away from her. When she falls ill, he eventually gets close to her, and she finds herself drawn to him as well. She begins to tell him how she was coerced into marrying a much older man by her brother, and why she decided to forsake all materialistic bonds.

A young doctor, Motilal, is stranded in a village after his plane crashes. He meets Tarana, a village girl, and falls in love with her. 

Ashok is a young man from a wealthy family who works as a postmaster. Bela, the simple daughter of the former postmaster, strives for his affections. However, she faces competition from Usha, the daughter of a wealthy landowner, who seems to be more suitable for Ashok.

The film, set in the nineteenth century British India, revolves round Sanga, a loyal servant of the Kingdom of Ramgarh. When he finds out that the British are misusing a favor granted by the King, he goes on to report the transgression, but finds the king stabbed to death.  He is then charged with murder; but escapes to form a revolutionary group, whose only aim is to free India.

This action drama film tells the story of two brothers Gungaram and Jumna. Gungaram, the elder brother, is a poor indebted farmer, who works hard to educate his younger brother and make him a police officer, after their mother passes away. However, several years later, Gungaram becomes an outlaw due to circumstances and Jumna is assigned to catch him.  

Mashaal is a 1984 action drama film, which revolves around Vinod Kumar, an honest man, who tries to expose the ills of society through his newspaper Mashaal. But, circumstances force Vinod to become an underworld Don.

Sagina is a musical drama film which tells the story of Sagina, a factory laborer working in the tea gardens of North-Eastern India, who is known for being aggressively against the British rule in India.   

Shamsher Singh avenges the thugs who killed his police-officer son, then flees with orphaned grandson Kunal. Aided by an underworld don, Shamsher turns into powerful smuggler Sobhraj, while Kunal is raised by employee Abu Baba to be an upright man. Kunal falls for poor girl Durga, but Sobhraj disapproves and tries to separate them, which leads Kunal to discover Sobhraj’s double life.  

Deedar is a romantic musical film which tells the story of a visually impaired man named Shamu, who decides to look for his childhood sweetheart, while also earning a living by singing. Despite the fact that her father opposed the relationship years ago, he continues to look for her.

Leader is a political drama film which tells the story of a law graduate Vijay Khanna, who is also an editor of a tabloid. When general elections are underway, Vijay finds himself accused of the murder of a political leader. Along with his girlfriend, he tries to expose the real criminals and clear his name.

Gopi is a drama film which revolves around an honest and simple man, Gopi, staying with his brother in a village, but he is accused of theft falsely by the landlord. His brother throws him out, and Gopi decides to go to the city, and return only after he is wealthy.

Amar is an honest and just lawyer who is soon to get married to a woman named Anju. However, due to circumstances, he ends up raping Soniya, a poor villager. When the villagers find out that Soniya is pregnant, she refuses to name the father, and the villagers decide to get her lynched.

Manju is a young girl living in a village, with her father and stepmother. She likes a boy named Mohan, who is her friend since childhood. However, things get ugly when Mehkoo, a retired army-man, enters their lives. He spreads rumors about Mohan and gets Manju married to an older ailing man.

Although he is just a friend to Neena, Dilip is in love with her and is shocked to find her engaged to Rajan. However, he continues with the association even after they get married so that the other man does not suspect anything. But Rajan comes to know about it by accident and thinks Neena is unfaithful to him, leading to death and heartburn. 

Years after two childhood sweethearts are forced to separate, things take a turn when they suddenly get back together. Everything seems happy for the couple, but it seems that the boy is hiding something.      

Thakur Chandrabhan lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small Indian village. His grand-daughter Tara is of marriageable age, and her wedding is arranged with a young man from a noble family named Pratap Singh, who demands a dowry of 300,000 Rupees.  However, things get ugly when Pratap absconds with the money. Now it is up to their manservant Bhola, who is secretly in love with Tara, to find and bring him back. Meanwhile, Tara makes up her mind to marry no one else but Bhola.

Mohan is an honest worker, but he is framed for the murder of his employer. He loses his wife and his son, and is sent to prison. After his release, he decides to take revenge against the men who wronged him.

Thakur is a kind-hearted widowed landlord, who lives with his daughter Roopa and his son Ramesh. He adopts a child named Shankar, who eventually falls in love with the former’s daughter. Ramesh however hates Shankar and when he finds out that Roopa likes Shankar as well and wants to marry him, he decides to get Shankar killed.

Thakur is a kind-hearted widowed landlord, who lives with his daughter Roopa and his son Ramesh. He adopts a child named Shankar, who eventually falls in love with the former’s daughter. Ramesh however hates Shankar and when he finds out that Roopa likes Shankar as well and wants to marry him, he decides to get Shankar killed.

Naya Din, Naya Raat is a drama film which tells the story of Sushma, a young girl, who runs away from home in order to avoid getting married against her will. On her way, she meets several people, and each one of them, representing a distinct facet of human nature, makes a significant impact on her life.

Sadhu Aur Shaitan is a comedy thriller film which tells the story of Bajrang, an honest and simple taxi driver, who tries to help everyone in trouble. Meanwhile, he is attracted to a schoolteacher named Vidya, whose brother is a drama artist. Things take a turn for him when a man claiming to be his childhood friend enters their lives one day. However, he actually plans to rob a bank and pin the blame on Sadhuram, Bajrang’s close friend.
