Serinda Swan is a Canadian actress, model and activist who is best known for her roles as Erica Reed in the A&E series 'Breakout Kings', as Paige Arkin in the USA Network series 'Graceland', and as Jenny Cooper in the CBC series 'Coroner'. She also starred as Medusa in Marvel's short-lived series 'Inhumans' and had a recurring role in the HBO series 'Ballers'. She portrayed Anne Bancroft in one episode of 'Feud: Bette and Joan'. Her film credits include 'The Break-Up Artist', 'Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief', 'Tron: Legacy', 'Creature', and 'The Veil'. An accomplished model, she has worked for brands such as Dorinha Jeans Wear, Breathe Activewear, Miss Sixty, Jacqueline Conlor, Diesel, Killah Babe, Kusuiko Jeans, Aritzia, House of Nyla, Thomas Lynch, Bodog, Guess? and Venus Swimwear. She has also appeared as 'Canada’s hottest export' in the cover of the 'Maxim' magazine. In March 2018, she spoke at the United Nations at a panel sponsored by the UN Women for Peace Association.

Rise to Stardom
As a child, Serinda Swan often accompanied her actress mother to the sets and made her first feature film appearance in a small role in the Ted Danson and Isabella Rossellini film 'Cousins' in 1989, at the age of three. Director Joel Schumacher had personally chosen her for the role. In the following years, she continued to appear in commercials for brands including Milky Way, Much Music, Macy's and Absolute Poker, and was also named the spokesperson for Absolute Poker.
As an adult, she had a small role in Hindi film 'Neal 'n' Nikki' (2005), followed by guest roles on American and Canadian television series such as 'Supernatural', 'Exes and Ohs' and 'Psych'. In April 2008, she appeared in Theory of a Deadman's music video for their single 'So Happy'. The same year, she acted in the telefilm 'Loch Ness Terror', and went on to appear in three more telefilms in 2009: 'Desperate Escape', 'Hostile Makeover', and 'Trust'. Also in 2009, she starred in the romantic comedy film 'The Break-Up Artist'. She had previously auditioned for the roles of Tess Mercer and Maxima on the television series 'Smallville', and finally appeared as the fictional superhero Zatanna Zatara in two episodes of the series in 2009-10.
In 2010, she returned to an episode of the series 'Supernatural', this time portraying the role of the Roman goddess 'Veritas'. She had originally auditioned for the role of Medusa in the 2010 fantasy film 'Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief', but was selected to play the role of Aphrodite in the same. In 2011, she bagged the main role of Erica Reed in the A&E television series 'Breakout Kings', which earned her recognition. After the show ended, she landed another starring role in the series 'Graceland' in 2013. While the ABC series 'Inhumans' lasted only one season in 2017, she currently stars as Jenny Cooper in the CBC series 'Coroner'.

Activism
Serinda Swan is a social activist who advocates equality and freedom for women. She regularly works with several charities including the Somaly Mam Foundation, United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets, and Heifer International. She is a Founding Ambassador for the non-profit organization 'Friends to Mankind' which works "with individuals, corporations, and humanitarian organizations for the betterment of humanity". She regularly promotes various charitable initiatives on social media and was involved with the #FreedomForGirls campaign promoting the U.N.’s Global Goals in late 2017. She is also a pet lover who has participated in several Save the Animals programs.

Serinda G. Swan was born on July 11, 1984 in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and was raised both in West Vancouver and in the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Her mother was an actress and her father, Scott Swan, is a theatre director and actor who also runs an acting studio. She was named after a Tibetan flute. She has Spanish, Scottish, Irish and English ancestry. She is the younger of two daughters of her parents. Her sister works as a model. She attended a Waldorf school during her childhood years and practiced gymnastics for 10 years. She once worked as a waitress at a restaurant. Spending time in Hawaii as a child, she has become very fond of surfing. She has a French bulldog named 'Budhdha'.
Relationships
Serinda Swan has been linked to several celebrities in the past, including American football wide receiver Terrell Owens in 2008 and Canadian-American actor Niall Matter in 2009. She also reportedly had a short-lived affair with her 'Creature' co-star Mehcad Jason Brooks in 2011. In 2012, she began dating Jimmi Simpson, her co-star from 'Breakout Kings'. While the two have often expressed their feelings for each other on social media, it is not known if they are still romantically involved.
