Cynthia Scurtis grabbed the limelight after she married Alex Rodriguez in 2002. She met Rodriguez at a gym in Miami, Florida. Back then, Rodriguez was already a recognized player of the game. Over the years, he achieved several feats and emerged as one of the most remarkable players of baseball. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on November 18, 2004. They named their daughter Natasha Alexander. The player was reportedly spotted with former ‘Playboy’ model Joslyn Noel Morse in Toronto on March 27, 2007, but back then, Cynthia blamed the paparazzi for spreading this rumor. Their second daughter, Ella Alexander, was born in Miami, Florida, on April 21, 2008. Rumors claimed that Rodriguez had missed Ella’s birth by 15 minutes, as after staying at the hospital for 10 to 15 minutes, the player had left to attend a benefit program hosted by Madonna in New York.

On July 7, 2008 Cynthia filed for divorce against Rodriguez. The reasons cited by her included "emotional abandonment" of her and their children by her husband, his extramarital affairs, and marital misconduct. The player mentioned in his response documents submitted to the court that the marriage was "irretrievably broken.”He also made a request to strike off the allegations of extramarital affairs mentioned against him, from the court records. Meanwhile, as rumors of a secret affair between Rodriguez and Madonna started surfacing, the latter responded by issuing a statement that mentioned she was not romantically involved with the player and did not have anything to do with the state of the marriage of Rodriguez and Cynthia. The divorce settlement was agreed upon by the couple in September that year. The divorce was finalized on October 31 the same year. Reportedly, Cynthia received a mansion worth $12 million as part of the divorce settlement, along with guaranteed spousal and child support.

A few years back, Rodriguez had reportedly begun a relationship with accomplished American actor, singer, dancer, and producer Jennifer Lopez. He had posted a picture of his daughter and Cynthia on his social-media profile, sparking a rumor of a possible reunion of Cynthia and Rodriguez. According to an ‘Instagram’ post of the player on March 9, 2017, the former couple had attended a parent–teacher meeting, along with their youngest daughter, Ella, at her school. However speculations of a possible reconciliation between Cynthia and Rodriguez were put to rest when Rodriguez and Lopez, who are dating since February 2017, announced their engagement in March 2019.

A former psychology teacher, Cynthia prefers to keep her life away from the spotlight and media attention. She is not too active on social media. Thus, not much is known about her life, career, and relationship status. Although some sources mention that Cynthia is currently dating real-estate investor Laszlo Fazekas, there is no concrete information to confirm the same.

Cynthia Scurtis was born to Evangeline Scurtis and John Scurtis, on December 28, 1972, in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida, US. She is of Greek ethnicity and was raised in a strict and religious Greek home. Her grandfather was known to be a Greek Orthodox priest. She has two siblings, brother Constantine and sister Anastasia.
