Amy Pohl is from England. After graduating with a first-class honors degree in primary education back in 2015, Amy had a 3-year stint as a kindergarten teacher at the Rugby Free primary school located in Warwickshire.

Soon, she fell sick and spent quite a few years in the hospital.

Amy Pohl is known for documenting her struggle with her medical condition on her TikTok account, amyepohl, which she created in March 2020. Her life vlogs have gained her millions of followers on the platform. In 2022, she also chronicled her recovery following a serious surgery.

Her first TikTok clip that got more than a million views was a comedy skit on how she was getting used to a wheelchair. An August 2020 TikTok clip posted by her was set to the track Pain by Nessa Barrett. One of her most popular clips is Come to physio with Me.

She has also garnered a huge fan base on YouTube, where she launched her channel in January 2013. Apart from documenting her life in a wheelchair, she also often posts content about cooking, pranking, traveling, and other engaging topics. She is associated with the London-based Bytesized Talent and The Millar Agency.

On Instagram too, her account, amy_pohl, has received thousands of followers. She mostly posts content on beauty, lifestyle, and comedy.

Amy Pohl grew up with her brother, Andrew. She has featured her parents, Joanne and David, on TikTok. She also owns a Hungarian Vizsla that she has named Bessler.

Apparently, while being treated at a hospital, she suffered from an allergic reaction to an anaesthetising spray. A medical negligence followed this, and she soon fell ill due to a rare neurological condition named complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), also known as the “suicide disease.”

Amy has also suffered from the genetic condition known as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, causing her immense joint pain.

She now lives in a neurological rehabilitation unit. Her motto is apparently to "stop fighting yourself and start fighting for yourself."
