Louis Bonaparte reigned over the Kingdom of Holland from 1806 to 1810. The younger brother of Napoléon Bonaparte, Louis followed in the footsteps of his brother and served in the French Army. He was later made the new king of Holland by Napoleon. However, Louis' wilfulness forced Napoleon to annex Holland into the French Empire and Louis fled into exile.

German-American economist Friedrich List is remembered as one of the pioneers of the historical school of economics. He supported tariffs on imported goods to help the domestic market. He is also known for his pamphlet Outlines of American Political Economy and his book The National System of Political Economy.

Friedrich Bessel was a German mathematician, astronomer, geodesist, and physicist. He was the first astronomer to use the method of parallax in order to determine the distance of a star from the sun. Bessel was a much-respected figure during his time. He was honored with the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Russian explorer and naval officer Otto von Kotzebue is remembered for his pioneering explorations in Oceania and his 3 circumnavigations of the Earth. The second son of German dramatist and diplomat August von Kotzebue, he also penned his travel accounts, which were later translated into English.

Dominican author and politician José Núñez de Cáceres was behind the creation of the short-lived state of Spanish Haiti, which was taken over by Haiti after 2 months. He spent his later years in Venezuela and Mexico. He was also one of the first Creole fabulists and owned a satirical newspaper.

Esaias Tegnér was a Swedish writer, professor, and bishop. He was considered the father of modern poetry in 19th century Sweden. Referred to as Sweden's first modern man, Esaias Tegnér is best remembered for his national romantic epic Frithjof's Saga, which has been translated into many languages including English and German.

Irish-born Mother Teresa Lalor co-founded the first monastery of the Visitation Order in the US, with Leonard Neale, the first Catholic bishop of the US. She had also assisted him in charitable activities during the 1797-98 yellow fever epidemic. She was also the first superior of the Visitation Order.

Under his influence, the city of Łódź became a prominent textile center. Franciszek Ksawery Drucki-Lubecki is also credited with reforming the ironworks and mining industries of Congress Poland.
