He was also associated with the European Rhythm Machine, a group led by American saxophonist Phil Woods and had also led the JazzFest Berlin as its artistic director, too. He had toured across many countries, including China.
The son of Swiss animation film director Georges Schwizgebel and Chinese artist Yaping Wang, Louis Schwizgebel made a name for himself as a genius pianist quite early in life. The Juilliard alumnus won the Geneva International Music Competition at 17 and also stood second at the Leeds International Piano Competition.
