Famous Swedish Rock Singers

Singer and songwriter Björn Ulvaeus is perhaps best known as a member of the ABBA, one of the most successful musical groups of all time. Equally famous as a co-composer and co-producer of several films and musicals, he is currently serving as the President of CISAC, trying to ensure that creators are fairly compensated and properly credited for their works.

Eagle-Eye Cherry is a Swedish stage performer and singer. He achieved international fame when his 1997 single Save Tonight became famous in the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, and New Zealand. Apart from creating his own music, Eagle-Eye Cherry also contributes to the success of other artistes by co-writing songs for their albums. 

Nina Persson soared to fame as the lead vocalist of the globally renowned Swedish band The Cardigans. Known for chartbusters such as Lovefool and Erase and Rewind, she interestingly aspired to be an artist instead of a musician in her younger days. She is also a cervical cancer survivor.

Yohio is a Swedish singer-songwriter best known for his dinstinctive androgynous appearance; he often performs wearing a lolita dress on stage. Inspired by Japanese culture at a young age, Yohio sings in Japanese and Swedish languages. He is also credited with co-founding Keios Entertainment where he is currently serving as the CEO.  

Swedish singer Pelle Almqvist is best known as the lead vocalist of the band The Hives. Interestingly, he has previously worked as a postman and a teacher, too. He has also collaborated with artists such as Moneybrother and been part of the game show Alla mot alla med Filip och Fredrik.

Bjorn Skifs is a Swedish singer, actor, songwriter, and screenwriter. He is credited with forming popular musical groups, namely Slam Creepers and Blåblus. He is also known for his association with Blue Swede where he was the lead singer. Bjorn Skifs has also represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions.

Maja Ivarsson is a Swedish singer best known as the lead vocalist of the popular indie rock band The Sounds. She achieved international recognition in 2006 when she was featured in Cobra Starship's single Snakes on a Plane (Bring It), which was used in the popular American action film Snakes on a Plane.

Anders Osborne is a Swedish-born American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is best known for performing in music festivals across the world. He has also released many albums and is the recipient of numerous Best of the Beat Awards.

Victoria Bergsman is a Swedish musician, vocalist, and songwriter best known for her association with the popular band The Concretes where she was active from 1995 to 2006. Bergsman has been focusing on her solo career since announcing her departure from The Concretes in 2006.

Daniel Norgren is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Although he is primarily known for his singing and songwriting skills, Norgren also plays the guitar and drums on stage. His debut album Kerosene Dreams was noted for its unique sound produced using homemade instruments.

Lisa Miskovsky is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician. She is best known for her self-titled album which earned her two Swedish Rock Bear Awards under the Best Swedish Newcomer and Best Swedish Female Artist of the Year categories. Miskovsky is also known for her second studio album Fallingwater which peaked at number one on Sverigetopplistan and earned platinum certification.

Joakim Berg is a Swedish musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for his association with the popular rock-pop band Kent where he was the lead singer. As part of the band, Berg received many Grammis. In 2014, Joakim Berg was honored by Carl XVI Gustaf with H.M. The King's Medal for his immense contributions to Swedish popular music.

For a young boy, who played football and ice hockey and took interest in cycle sports and boxing, pursuing a career in sports was more likely. But equally interested in music, Jerry Williams decided to take up music as his career option, beginning with bands before going solo, eventually releasing numerous studio and live albums over period of five decades.  

Andreas Johnson is a Swedish musician, singer, and songwriter. He achieved international recognition in 1999 when his single Glorious became a hit all over the world. Since then, the song has been used in many advertisements for popular companies like Volvo, Vauxhall, and Nutella. Andreas Johnson has also competed in Melodifestivalen on several occasions.

Swedish singer-songwriter Joey Tempest, the lead singer of the legendary band Europe, is best known for churning out iconic hits such as The Final Countdown. Interestingly, he was also a talented cart racer. Later in his career, he went solo and even won a Grammy nomination.
