YandereDev is an American independent video game developer most popular for developing the online game ‘Yandere Simulator’. The game’s concept of an innocent schoolgirl willing to do anything for love has a cult following online. YandereDev regularly posts updates about the progress of the game’s development on his popular YouTube channel, Instagram and Twitter accounts. He has millions of subscribers to his YouTube channel. He developed an interest in video games as a child and eventually got a degree in digital arts. He also worked at a video game company for a few years before becoming a freelance programmer. When he hit upon the idea of his now popular simulator game, he began to dedicate all his time to it and now works full time to develop the game, with the help of a few volunteers. As a talented developer and artist, he has a bright future ahead of him and fans can expect more games from him.
- As a shy child, YandereDev developed an interest in developing video games from an early age. He started off by creating games with simplistic plots and characters, and using primitive programs. It was only in 2008 did he decide to turn his hobby into a profession. After graduating from college, he joined ‘Kung Fu Factory’ as a Junior Game Designer and learnt many vital programming and game development skills there. By the time he left the company in 2013 to become an independent game developer, he had worked on five games for several mobile and console platforms.Recommended Lists:

He was actively known to operate under the username ‘EvaXephon’ on various streaming platforms, but due to his reported incessant spamming activities, he was banned from many of them. When his idol, a game developer, ‘Mike-Z’, criticised his idea, he took it as encouragement to work harder. In 2012, when a user floated the idea for a ‘Hitman’-style game featuring a Japanese schoolgirl, he took it up as a project and developed a working prototype of the game within a month. Users loved the game and he soon became famous for it. He christened the game – ‘Yandere Simulator’.He has been developing the game since April 2014 with the help of several volunteers. It is based on the stealth gameplay concept of an innocent-looking Japanese high school girl stalking a boy and eliminating any other girl who seems to be interested in him. ‘Yandere’ means ‘love struck’ in Japanese and for the purposes of this game, it also means a girl who is willing to threaten, injure or murder someone for love. The protagonist is called ‘Yandere-chan’ and ‘Senpai-kun’ is the boy she loves. Once the game is completed, the protagonist’s name will evolve to either ‘Yan-chan’ or ‘Ayano’. He has also stated that the name of the game will definitely change too.He also has an eponymous YouTube channel that was started in April 2014 and has over 2 million subscribers so far. His channel mostly serves as a medium for posting updates and information about the game. The most popular video on his channel is the ‘Yandere Simulator Male Rival Introduction Video’ with over 10 million views. He has also dabbled in the creation of eight other simpler ‘Yandere’ themed games that he developed for fun, like ‘Kuudere Simulator’, ‘Burning Love’, ‘Midori Forest’ etc.Although fans love his game, his personality does not seem to be very likeable. Based on his Twitter responses, fans have described him as sarcastic. He seems to abhor people who send him unnecessary emails and even created a character based on such people (that he often kills off) in the game. The game is free as of now, and players can download debug builds (development or test versions of the game) and help him solve the games issues. It is being developed on the ‘Patreon’ crowdfunding membership platform and he makes about USD 2615 as a monthly salary on the platform, which enables him to work full-time on the game instead of looking for additional freelance work. He hopes to start a ‘Kickstarter’ funding campaign once the game is complete and will start charging players for downloading it. If there is a demand for it, he might create a sequel titled ‘Yandere Simulator 2’ or develop a completely different game altogether. You May LikeContinue Reading BelowFamily & Personal Life
