Paul Nassif Biography

Paul Sabin Nassif was born on June 6, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, United States to Sabin and Anne Nassif into a family with Egyptian and Lebanese roots. His father was born into a Lebanese-American family on October 17, 1912, in Minnesota, United States and died just shy of 100 on August 27, 2012.

He grew up with an older brother, Chris Nassif, who launched his own talent agency when he was just 22 and represented “some of the biggest stars on the planet, from Sofia Vergara to Luke Perry to Ricky Martin”. He announced on Instagram in July 2022 that his older brother, who was his super hero growing up, had suddenly passed away at the age of 62.

He went to Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California, before attending the University of Southern California, from where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1984.

He then pursued his first two years of medical education at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Chicago Medical School and completed his graduation from University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1992.

In 1992-93, he interned in general surgery at University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, and subsequently was an Otolaryngology-head and neck surgery resident there in 1993-97, becoming the chief resident in the final year.

He then spent another year completing a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at St. Louis University School of Medicine.

Paul Nassif started his career as a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Spalding Drive Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology in Beverly Hills in 1999. During his career of private practice spanning over two decades, he has served in various positions including Membership Chairmen at California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery in 1999-2004.

He has served as a member of New Technologies and Devices Committee, Ethics Committee, Face to Face (Anti-Domestic Violence) Committee and Strategic Development Committee at American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Furthermore, he served as the chairman of its Young Physicians Committee in 2002-05 and Public Information Committee in 2009-2012, apart from being on the Editorial Advisory Board of Plastic Surgery Products Magazine in 2002-05.

Since February 2017, he has been practicing as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Nassif M.D., Inc., also in Beverly Hills, California. He has reportedly developed the first skincare line to specifically address the bio-rhythmic changes and their effects on the skin through products under his Nassif MD Bio-Rhythmic Skincare Line.

Paul Nassif first appeared on television as a plastic surgeon in two episodes of the series Plastic Surgery: Before & After in 2002. He then appeared as himself in the 2004 TV movie Addicted to Plastic Surgery.

He featured as a plastic surgeon in the documentary style episode profiling the life and career of Canadian actress Pamela Anderson of the series E! True Hollywood Story in 2004. In 2006, he appeared as himself in an episode of Dr. 90210 and in the TV movie Plastic Disasters.

Starting in 2010, he appeared in the first three seasons of the reality series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, on which his then-wife Adrienne Maloof was a main cast member. While he was a regular cast in the first three seasons of the show, he also made appearances in one episode each of its fourth, eighth and tenth seasons.

He had a voice role in the 2011 telefilm Charlie Sheen: Bad Boy on the Edge and made his first appearance on The Wendy Williams Show the same year. In 2014, he gained recognition for co-hosting, with fellow plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, the E! reality series Botched, which has been running successfully for seven seasons and has been renewed for an eighth season.

Following the success of his show, he made guest appearances in several talk shows including Entertainment Tonight, The Meredith Vieira Show and Hollywood Today Live, Hollywood Medium, Steve Harvey and Megyn Kelly Today.

He has also appeared in several episodes of shows such as E! News, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, The Dr. Oz Show, Home & Family, Extra, and Today.

*In 2016, both Paul Nassif and Dubrow featured in the spin-off series Botched by Nature, in which they travelled around the country to help people who were "botched by genetics or a traumatic incident". The same year, the two doctors also appeared in the talk show Botched: Post-Op, hosted by Dubrow’s wife Heather Dubrow, for a recap of each week's Botched by Nature episode.

Paul Nassif married Adrienne Maloof, a businesswoman and member of the Maloof family, on May 2, 2002, and shares three sons with her named Gavin, Colin and Christian. He filed for separation from Adrienne on July 30, 2012 citing irreconcilable differences and sought joint custody of their three children.

They were locked in a vicious battle as Adrienne won temporary custody of the children and a restraining order against Nassif after claiming that he choked one of the children, which he denied. In response, his lawyer accused that Maloof displayed repetitive bouts of verbal and physical abuse towards him in the presence of their children.

He was granted visitation rights in late September after the Department of Children and Family Services issued a report stating Adrienne’s claims were baseless. Their divorce was finalized on November 8, 2012, following which they issued a joint statement about reaching an agreement on a settlement.

He later started dating Brittany Pattakos, who also appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and they got engaged on June 1, 2019. They married in Santorini on September 28, 2019, when he was 57 and she was 28, and welcomed their first child, daughter Pauline Anne, on October 12, 2020.

Paul Nassif, who had briefly met his to-be second wife at a medical meeting, had their first date at the wedding of his ex-mother-in-law, the mother of Adrienne Maloof. During an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife, Brittany recounted how she met everyone including his ex wife, his kids, and added that “He was like, ‘Let’s see how you handle it!'”
