Justin was a 'Delta Chi Fraternity' member. Continuing post-graduation at the university, he majored in French literature in 1996. Justin also attended the 'Berklee College of Music' in Boston.
Initially, Justin had no plan to become an entrepreneur. However, he soon realized that a 9-to-5 office job was not his cup of tea. His best friend, too, had the same notion. Hence, they decided to team up for a venture.
Career
Justin began his professional journey working as a news affiliate for 'ABC News' and a producer-writer for the foreign desk of 'NBC News.' He later worked with 'Sony Ericsson,' 'AT&T Wireless,' 'Nokia,' and 'Verizon Wireless.' In 2001, Justin co-founded 'JSmart Technologies, Inc.,' a former mobile gaming company, now turned into one of the leading developers and publishers in North America. Working for 'JSmart,' Justin built relationships with several leading wireless operators, handset manufacturers, brands, and publishers around the world, which helped him in his future entrepreneurial ventures.
Justin quit 'JSmart' in October 2004 and joined the IT company 'SkyZone' as their vice president of publishing. He worked there for a year. While at 'SkyZone,' Justin worked on 'Duke Nukem 3D,' 'Gamespot's most anticipated game of 2005. In October 2005, Justin laid the foundation of 'JNJ Mobile,' the parent company of 'MocoSpace,' which is the leading mobile social-game community in North America.
Justin was hired by 'TechStars' networking in 2011. A few months later, he became an investor, board member, and advisor of 'ATX Angel, LLC,' an Austin-based investment firm for IT start-ups.
In September 2014, Justin became a partner of 'Capital Factory,' a Texas-based company sponsoring start-ups. He is the CEO and one of the co-founders of 'NextGen Angels,' a venture capital and private equity firm established in October 2015. A few months later, in February 2016, Justin became one of the co-owners of 'NRG eSports.'
Family & Personal Life
Justin was married to actor and singer Emmy Rossum. They had a secret wedding in February 2008, after dating for several years. The marriage lasted for just 17 months, and they separated in September 2009. According to sources, it was Justin who had initiated the divorce and asked Emmy to cite irreconcilable differences as the reason. Additionally, he had also asked for spousal support. The court denied both his demands, and their divorce was finalized on December 28, 2010.
Justin and Emmy's marriage was revealed to the public only after their divorce was publicized. Though Emmy moved on in her life and married director and screenwriter Sam Esmail in May 2017, Justin is still single.
Justin believes Warren Buffett is his source of inspiration.
