Beena Patel Biography

Beena Patel was born into a Hindu family. After graduating high school, she was enrolled at ‘University of California, Davis’ in 2003. She graduated from the university in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree. She earned a ‘Bachelor of Science’ degree, majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. From 2007 to 2008, she pursued a ‘Masters in Public Health’ (MPH) at ‘The University of California Davis School of Medicine.’ In 2010, she enrolled at ‘The University of California, Los Angeles’ (UCLA) where she pursued the ‘Doctor of Public Health’ (DrPH) degree. She became a recipient of the prestigious ‘Ruth Roemer Award’ before graduating from ‘UCLA.’

While pursuing her education, Beena Patel worked for several organizations. She started her career as a clinical research coordinator at ‘Retinal Consultants’ in Sacramento, California. As part of her job, Patel had to deal with top pharmaceutical companies, such as ‘Lucentis’ and ‘Avastin.’ In October 2008, she joined ‘Cave Consulting Group’ as clinical operations analyst and account manager. As an operations analyst, she worked closely with top health care quality organizations, such as ‘National Committee for Quality Assurance’ (NCQA) and ‘National Quality Forum’ (NQF).

After quitting ‘Cave Consulting Group’ in August 2010, she joined the Los Angeles-based think tank ‘UCLA Center For Health Policy Research’ in October 2010. While still working for the Los Angeles-based think tank, Patel joined ‘VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System’ as a program director for ‘Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team’ in West Los Angeles. In October 2013, she joined ‘MedAmerica’ as a practice management consultant. In June 2017, she became the transformation consultant of ‘MedAmerica,’ a position which she currently holds.

Patel has made many public appearances alongside Hasan Minhaj. In November 2016, Minhaj posted a picture alongside his wife on his official Instagram page. Titled as ‘walking through the rose garden,’ the picture was clicked at the ‘White House’ when Barack Obama was serving as the president of the United States. In 2017, Patel walked down the red carpet when she attended the 76th ‘Annual Peabody Awards.’ In the same year, she was seen attending Donald Trump’s ‘White House Correspondents' Dinner’ as it was hosted by her husband. In 2018, she accompanied Hasan Minhaj to the 70th ‘Primetime Emmy Awards,’ which was held at ‘Microsoft Theater’ in Los Angeles, California.

Beena Patel met Hasan Minhaj at ‘The University of California, Davis.’ Minhaj later revealed in an interview that he was attracted to her the moment he saw her. After dating for many years, the couple decided to tie the knot in 2015. They got married in January 2015 and moved in together. In accordance with the Indian culture, Minhaj and Patel had decided not to move in together during their courtship days. On April 22, 2018, Minhaj and Patel were blessed with a baby girl. Beena Patel likes to maintain a low profile. Even her Instagram account is private, although she gets featured frequently on her husband’s Instagram page. Minhaj and Patel moved from Los Angeles to New York City where they currently live in an apartment. In one of his interviews, Hasan Minhaj had stated that Beena Patel had decorated their apartment.
