Famous Norwegian Snowboarders

Terje Håkonsen is a Norwegian snowboarder whose proficiency and flowing style on all types of terrain have characterized his snowboarding. Counted among the most influential snowboarders of all time, Håkonsen is credited with popularizing the sport by appearing in international snowboard productions and films. Terje Håkonsen has won multiple World Championships and European Championships.

Torstein Horgmo is a Norwegian snowboarder who has won three gold medals and three silver medals at the Winter X Games. Horgmo missed an opportunity to compete in the Winter Olympics in 2014 after breaking his collarbone while practicing in Sochi just before the start of the games.

Marcus Kleveland is a Norwegian snowboarder who specializes in the big air and slopestyle events. He is best known for winning gold and a bronze medal at the 2021 FIS Snowboarding World Championships. Marcus Kleveland has also won six gold and three silver medals at the Winter X Games. 

A 4-time Olympian, Norwegian snowboarder Ståle Sandbech won a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Beginning his snowboarding journey at age 8, he gained attention by participating in contests as a teenager. He also has a World Championship gold and 2 Winter X Games silvers in his kitty.

With his 2020 Puerto Rico Open win, Andreas Wiig became the first Norwegian golfer with a PGA Tour victory. He was also the first from his country to win the European Tour. He had gained attention in the college golf scene during his Oklahoma State University days.

Kim Christiansen is a Norwegian former snowboarder who began his professional career as a teenager. He was just 16 when he received a sponsorship from Quicksilver. He had a highly prolific career during which he had many sponsors. He won the World Snowboard Championship in Madonna di Campiglio in 2001. He retired from professional snowboarding in 2006.
