W. E. B. Du Bois was an American civil rights activist, sociologist, and Pan-Africanist. Du Bois played an instrumental role in fighting for full civil rights for people of color around the world. A co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Du Bois also played an important role as the leader of the Niagara Movement.

Chris Attoh is a Ghanaian actor, on-air personality, film director, TV presenter, and producer. He is best known for his portrayal of Kwame Mensah in the popular Nigerian soap opera, Tinsel. Widely regarded as one of Africa's finest actresses, Abebrese is the recipient of several prestigious awards such as the African Movie Academy Award, Screen Nation Film & TV Award, and Golden Movie Award. A multi-talented personality, Ama K. Abebrese also works with a charity organization called SafeChild Ghana.
Seasoned Ghanaian politician, gender-activist, media and communications consultant, and governance and leadership practitioner Akua Dansua is a member of National Democratic Congress. She held-office as Member of the Ghana Parliament for North Dayi for over a decade and served as Minister for Women and Children's Affairs, for Youth and Sports and for Tourism. She also served as Ambassador to Germany.

Popular Ghanaian broadcaster and journalist Frank Kobina Parkes was also a talented poet, known for his book Songs from the Wilderness. He was also one of the pillars of the négritude intellectual and literary movement in Africa. The poem African Heaven remains to be his best-known work.
