Spencer Tracy Filmography
Recipient of two Academy awards, Spencer Tracy first found success in 1930 when he starred in ‘The Last Mile,’ a Broadway play where he played the lead.
He made a successful film debut with a pre-code comedy film, ‘Up the River,’ but, he largely remained unknown to the audiences even after starring in more than twenty films.
He starred in more than seventy films and became one of the major stars of ‘Hollywood’s Golden Age,’ bagging in one ‘Golden Globe Award’ out of four nominations and winning two ‘British Academy Film Awards’ out of five nominations.
Some of his notable and popular works are ‘San Francisco,’ ‘Inherit the Wind,’ ‘Father of the Bride,’ ‘Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner,’ ‘Adam’s Rib,’ ‘Woman of the Year,’ ‘Bad Day at Black Rock,’ ‘Judgement at Nuremberg,’ and ‘The Old Man and the Sea.’
