Renowned for successfully directing numerous feature films and for his work in television sitcoms, the Academy Award winner Ron Howard first grabbed attention with ‘The Andy Griffith Show,’ where he portrayed Opie Taylor. ‘The Journey’ was his first accredited role. He was seen in ‘The Music Man,’ a musical film, ‘American Graffiti,’ and ‘The Courtship of Eddie’s Father,’ a comedy film. However, he shot to fame with ‘Happy Days,’ a sitcom that continued for seven years, in which he portrayed Richie Cunningham.
His love for directing films made him leave ‘Happy Days.’ ‘Night Shift’ marked his big theatrical break.
