Rhys Darby was first seen in the 2005 television film ‘Who's Ya Mate?’ In 2007, he starred as ‘Murray Hewitt’ in the American sitcom ‘Flight of the Conchords.’ The show ran for almost 2 years and aired its final episode in 2009. Darby made his big-screen debut in the romantic comedy film ‘Yes Man’ directed by Peyton Reed. The film opened to mixed reviews and was a major commercial success, grossing over $223.2 million against a budget of $70 million. In 2019, he reprised his role as ‘Nigel Billingsley’ in ‘Jumanji: The Next Level,’ the sequel to the 2017 film ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.’ The film did well at the box office and went on to become the tenth highest-grossing film of 2019.
Rhys Darby was last seen voicing the character ‘Denny the Snowflake’ in the American animated sitcom ‘The Great North’ (2021). He is all set to appear in the upcoming period comedy television series ‘Our Flag Means Death’ where he will play the role of ‘Stede Bonnet.
