American actor Randy Quaid was awarded a Golden Globe for his role as the US President, Lyndon Johnson in the film ‘LBJ: The Early Years’ (1987). He also won a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor in the television film ‘Elvis’ (2005). His other notable performances have been in the movies ‘The Last Detail’ (1973), ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ (1984), ‘Parents’ (1989) and ‘Brokeback Mountain’ (2005). He produced and acted in his last film titled ‘Star Whackers’, which is about the mysterious deaths of Hollywood stars. The movie has not been commercially released.
Randy Quaid’s career on stage came to an abrupt end when he was banned for life and heavily fined by the Actors’ Equity Association for being physically abusive with his co-performers during the production of the musical ‘Lone Star Love’, which had to be cancelled.
He formed his band ‘Randy Quaid & The Fugitives’ that released their first single ‘Star Whackers’ in 2011. He has been involved in several legal issues and has been arrested a couple of times on various charges. He ultimately fled to Canada in order to escape the law and shame of being a disgraced Hollywood celebrity.
