Rae Dawn Chong is a Canadian-American actress. After a few minor television roles, she made her film debut in 'Stony Island' (1978). This was followed by performances in the hit films ‘Quest for Fire’ (1981), 'Choose Me' (1984) and 'Commando' (1985). The actress then went on to act in the successful movies 'Soul Man' (1986) and 'The Principal' (1987). 'The Color Purple' (1985) is one of the highest-grossing films of her career.Â
