During WWII, 4 American soldiers stranded on an island, find a WWI gunboat haunted by its captain, Finchhaven, who had fallen down drunk on first assignment, disgracing the family and was condemned to stay on his ship till he tries to redeem his actions. Making a deal, the soldiers assist him in fighting-off a Japanese vessel. Will that help Finchhaven regain his honor?
