Mel Gibson is a multiple award-winning American actor and a filmmaker. He started his acting career with Australian theatre plays, movies and television and made his on-screen debut with the Australian film ‘Summer City’ in the late 70s. His next role set the course of his future career and turned him into one of the biggest Australian action stars in the 80s. ‘Mad Max’ was the film that put Mel Gibson on the road to Hollywood. After appearing in some more Australian films such as ‘Tim’, ‘Attack Force Z’, ‘Mad Max 2’ and ‘Gallipoli’, Mel made his Hollywood debut with the 1984 film ‘The River’.
After starting his career in Hollywood, Mel Gibson took Hollywood by storm starring in some notable action and drama films such as ‘The Patriot’, ‘Maverick’, ‘Braveheart’, ‘Hamlet, ‘Pocahontas’, ‘Chicken Run’, ‘Signs’, ‘Lethal weapon’ and ‘The Man without a Face’. Overtime, Mel Gibson became a guarantee of box office success and embarked into directing with ‘The Man without a Face’, while another one of his directorial venture ‘Braveheart’ earned him the Academy Award for Best Director.
