Marc Maron started his career as a standup comedian in 1987. He made his first television appearance in 1993 as a host on the American clip show 'Short Attention Span Theater.' He made his big-screen debut in the 1994 American sports comedy-drama film ‘D2: The Mighty Ducks’ where he played the role of a valet. However, his scene was later deleted from the final version of the movie. In 1997, he starred in the comedy film ‘Who's the Caboose?’ which marked his official film debut. Maron played the role of an angry promoter in the 2000 comedy-drama film ‘Almost Famous’ directed by Cameron Crowe. While the film opened to critical acclaim, it failed to perform at the box office, only managing to earn $47.4 million against a budget of $60 million.
In 2002, he joined the television show ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ as a host. The show ran for a month and aired 5 episodes. Maron next appeared as ‘Marc Victor’ in the television miniseries ‘Pilot Season’ (2004). In 2010, he joined the flash animated adult animated sitcom ‘The Life & Times of Tim’ where he voiced various characters. Maron remained a part of the show until 2011. After making brief appearances in shows like ‘Metalocalypse’ (2012), ‘Adventure Time’ (2012), and ‘Louie’ (2012-2014), he launched his sitcom series titled ‘Maron’ in 2013. The show ran for 3 years, from May 3, 2013, to July 13, 2016. Maron was next seen in ‘Harvey Beaks’ (2015-2016), ‘Animals’ (2016), ‘Easy’ (2016-2019), ‘GLOW’ (2017-2019), ‘Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero’ (2017), and ‘The Simpsons’ (2019).
Marc Maron has also starred in movies like ‘Sleepwalk with Me’ (2012), ‘Flock of Dudes’ (2015), ‘Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates’ (2016), and ‘Sword of Trust’ (2019). He was last seen in the 2021 biographical musical drama film ‘Respect’ directed by Liesl Tommy. The film garnered positive reviews upon release with critics praising the performance of the cast. Maron is all set to appear in the upcoming American computer-animated heist comedy film ‘The Bad Guys.’
