Rachel Watson, an alcoholic divorcee, daily watches Megan and Scott, an apparently perfect couple, from her train. One day, she sees something in their backyard that upsets her enough to get off the train. The next morning she finds herself covered with bruises with no memory of previous night, and learns that Megan is missing. So she decides to investigate the mystery.
