Reese Witherspoon Filmography
Reese Witherspoon needs no introduction - winner of Academy, Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy and BAFTA Award, she is a powerhouse of talent, creativity, artistic excellence and much more. A little more than two and a half decades in her career, Witherspoon has gained a reputation of being one in a million!
Interestingly, Witherspoon’s stint in films started unintentionally. Originally trying for a role as an extra, she bagged the lead character in the 1991 film ‘The Man in The Moon’. Though Witherspoon was seen in highly successful films like ‘Freeway’ and ‘Election’, she did not gain recognition until ‘Legally Blonde’ happened. The film is marked as the magnum opus of Witherspoon’s career. Thereafter, she starred in some hit films, such as ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, ‘Sweet Home Alabama’, ‘Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde’, ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’, ‘Water for Elephants’, ‘Sing’, ‘Gone Girl’ and so on.
Reese Witherspoon’s best role, however, came for the James Mangold’s film ‘Walk the Line’, eventually earning her prestigious awards. Her career has been a mixed bag with equal hits and misses. Some of her flop films include ‘How Do You Do’, ‘Rendition’ and ‘This Means War’.
