George Lattimer is a police officer in Washington DC, who is proud to be one of the few African Americans in the department, despite the fact that his peers do not show much love towards him. Not only he has to struggle within a predominantly white department, but he also has to deal with the African American community that doesn’t trust cops. Things get complicated for him, when he is promoted to the rank of sergeant, which leads him to an ugly personal crusade against criminals.

Two friends—Sam and Mitch—are in need of money to pay for Sam’s dad’s heart surgery. However, they both get fired, after which they come up with a great idea to make money. They start a revenge-for-hire business, which becomes a big success.        

Vic Bealer is a good-looking boxer from a small Texas town, who aspires to do something big in his life. However, when opportunities present themselves, he acts too indecisive and restless to do something and take advantage of the situation. Eventually he almost becomes a part of the Olympic boxing team, but things get complicated because of his relationship with a much younger girl.

Based on the 1962 novel of the same name, this action drama film revolves around a slave, who is torn between his success as a pit-fighter and the injustices of white society.
