John Drew Barrymore was the son of legendary actor John Barrymore. Even though his mother wanted him to join the Army, John rebelled and signed a film contract at the age of 17. He made his debut in the 1950 film ‘The Sundown.’ He got his first leading role in the second film of his career, ‘High Lonesome’ (1950). He also starred in films such as ‘The Big Night’ (1951), ‘Thunderbirds’ (1952), ‘Never Love a Stranger’ (1958), ‘Night of the Quarter Mood’ (1959), ‘The Pharaohs' Woman (1961) and ‘Arms of the Avenger’ (1963). He guest-starred in several TV shows, including ‘Schlitz Playhouse’ (1951-59), ‘The 20th Century-Fox Hour’ (1955-57), ‘Matinee Theatre’ (1955-57), and ‘Run for Your Life’ (1965-68). His last few roles came in films such as ‘The Clones’ (1973) and ‘Baby Blue Marine’ (1976).
