Eric Idle Filmography
Eric Idle is an English actor, comedian, and songwriter. He is most famously associated with the comedy group Monty Python. Idle came to the limelight after starring in the comedy series ‘Do Not Adjust Your Set’ and ‘At Last the 1948 Show’. He started working with Monty Python after this and wrote his own sketches. He appeared in several Monty Python movies such as ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’, ‘Life of Brian’, and ‘The Meaning of Life’. The movies were hugely successful. After disbanding the group, Idle performed many solo sketches and appeared in several other movies such as ‘Yellowbeard’, ‘The Adventures of Baron Munchausen’, and ‘Splitting Heirs’, all of them considered his failures by critics.
Eric Idle also hosted his radio show, created ‘Rutland Weekend Television’, and appeared on ‘Saturday Night Live’. He had brief roles in the hit films ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!’ and ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’. His worst performing movie was ‘Burn Hollywood Burn’ in 1998. Despite constant ups and downs, Idle maintained a productive career and constantly engaged in all forms of entertainment He has appeared in ‘The Simpsons’, Suddenly Susan, performed worldwide tours to packed audiences, and created the musical comedy ‘Spamalot’. His recent work includes voiceover work for hit films such as ‘The Boxtrolls’ and ‘Shrek the Third’.
