Dustin Hoffman Filmography
Six decades and still going strong, Dustin Hoffman is one of the finest actors in history of cinema. Winner of two Academy Awards in addition to five nominations, he was bestowed with innumerable other prestigious awards such as Golden Globe, BAFTA, Emmy, Drama Desk, Kennedy Centre, Genie Award and so on for his unmatched contribution to the field of acting.
Having made his mark in theatre, Hoffman’s first film role came rather ironically. He had auditioned for a role in a Broadway play, which though he couldn’t bag, lend him a starring role in the 1967 film ‘The Graduates’. The film was a hit and successfully launched his acting career on big screen. He broke the stereotype bringing in a new candour on films. What followed was an illustrious filmography that has lasted for more than five decades with notable films like ‘Midnight Cowboy’, ‘Little Big Man’, ‘Straw Dogs’, ‘Papillon’, ‘Lenny’, ‘Marathon Man’, ‘All the President's Men’, ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’, ‘Tootsie’, ‘Rain Man’, ‘Hook’ and ‘Wag the Dog’. In 2012, Hoffman made his directorial debut with ‘Quartet’.
