Famous British Country Musicians

Keith Richards is a musician and songwriter. He is credited with co-founding one of the most popular rock bands ever, The Rolling Stones. Also a guitarist, he was ranked fourth on Rolling Stone magazine's 100 best guitarists list in 2011. Richards' look and characterization inspired the character of Captain Teague who appears in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

Jimmy Nail is an English singer, songwriter, actor, and TV writer. He is best known for playing the role of Leonard "Oz" Osborne in the TV show Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. As a singer, he recorded the single, Ain't No Doubt, which became a  successful hit worldwide. He is also active in theater and has performed in many musicals. 

Julia Lennon was a British woman and the mother of popular singer-songwriter John Lennon. Julia helped John learn musical instruments like the ukulele and banjo. She also played an important role in his life and was the inspiration behind some of John's popular songs like Mother and Julia. She was played by Christine Kavanagh in John's biopic In His Life.

Albert Lee is an English guitarist best known for his hybrid picking and fingerstyle technique. Renowned for his technical virtuosity and his speed of playing, Lee was named the Best Country Guitarist by Guitar Player magazine on five consecutive occasions. At the 2017 UK Americana Awards, Albert Lee was awarded the prestigious Trailblazer Lifetime Achievement Award.

Troy Donockley is an English composer and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in playing the uilleann pipes. He is best known as a member of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. The son of musicians, he grew up listening to classical, rock, country, and traditional music. He began his career as a teenager and played with numerous bands before joining Nightwish.
