Famous Ukrainian Prime Ministers

The feisty Orange Revolution leader Yulia Tymoshenko became Ukraine’s first lady prime minister in 2005 and was back in power from 2007 to 2010. She made her signature blonde ponytail, sometimes worn in a crown-shaped braid, a fashion statement. Tymoshenko was on Forbes’s list of the world’s most powerful women.

Regarded as one of the most successful Bulgarian prime ministers, Sergey Stanishev has also served the Party of European Socialists as its president. Known for his 13-year stint as the Bulgarian Socialist Party leader, he also holds a PhD in history and has been an international relations visiting fellow at LSE.
