Yon González is a Spanish actor who is best known for his portrayal of Ivan Noiret León in Antena 3’s ‘El internado’ aka ‘The Boarding School,’ for which he earned the ACE Award for Best New Actor. He has also gained recognition for contributing to the drama series ‘Gran Hotel’ as Julio Olmedo. González was born in Bergara, Gipuzkoa. Acting Career
Yon González made his acting debut in 2006 when he was cast as Andrés in the TV show ‘SMS’. A year later, he joined the cast of 'El internado' (English title- The Boarding School) as Iván Noiret León. A production of Antena 3, the thriller drama focused on the students residing in a far-off boarding school who face macabre events while residing there. González’s performance garnered critical acclaim, earning him the ACE Award for Best New Actor.
During 2008 and 2009, the actor featured in the short films ‘El forjador de historias’ (The Storymaker), ‘Identidad’ (Identity), and ‘Muñecos de latex’ (Latex Puppets). His role as Adrián in ‘Latex Puppets’ earned him La FILA Festival of Short Films Award for Best Male Performance. Then in 2010, he played Constantine II of Greece in ‘Sofía’, a miniseries centering on Queen Sofía of Spain.
His projects in 2011 included the TV series ‘Gran reserva’ aka ‘Great Reserve,’ the short film ‘Desconocierto’ aka ‘Unknown Truth,’ and the series ‘Grand Hotel’. In ‘Grand Hotel,’ González starred as Julio Olmedo alongside Amaia Salamanca. Set in an early 20th century hotel, the series focused on the mysteries involving the hotel owner's family and the servants. The show helped boost the actor’s career and earned him the Fotogramas de Plata Award for Best Television Actor.
In the mid-2010s, González had appearances in the drama series ‘Bajo sospecha’ (Under Suspicion) and ‘Perdiendo el Norte’ (Off Course). Then in 2017, he joined the cast of 'Las Chicas Del Cable' aka ‘The Cable Girls’ as Francisco Gómez. Produced by Netflix, the period drama web television series starred Ana Fernández, Blanca Suárez, Maggie Civantos, and Nadia de Santiago in lead roles.
