Sarah Geronimo (Sara Asher Tua Geronimo) is a Filipino singer, musician, record producer, dancer and actress, who rose to fame with her multi-talented personality and gorgeous on screen presence. She took singing lessons from her father and practiced daily on her singing abilities while she was a child and as she grew up, she became exquisitely good at her skills. Her mother would then accompany her to different auditions for kid’s singing competitions and as a result, Sarah became a part of shows like ‘Pen*Pen De Sarapen’ and ‘NEXT’, the shows which laid the foundation of her long and successful career as a musician and actress. In true sense, her career started off at the age of 14, when she emerged as the winner of ‘Star for a Night’, a popular singing competition in Philippines. Sarah’s cover of ‘to Love you more’ became the highlight of the show and several record companies rushed to sign the young star on. Thus started a long career full of chart topping singles, albums, concerts, movies and TV shows and Sarah became a reigning superstar of her generation. Some of her films are known as the highest grossing films in Filipino cinema history and Sarah became a youth role model.

Childhood & Early Life
Sarah Geronimo was born in Manila, Philippines, on 25th July 1988, to Delfin and Divina Geronimo. Her father worked as a PLDT employee while her mother ran a beauty salon from her house.
Her parents were music lovers and hence, Sarah caught the love at a very early age and as she turned 2, she was already singing songs and nursery rhymes. Her mother saw talent in her daughter and started taking her to auditions of TV programs and music shows.
Sarah got roles in several kids’ shows and started her acting and singing career while side by side, she kept performing at malls and lounges - all this before she turned 10! Her father, who happened to be a musician back in his times, taught her the right way to do it and Sarah didn’t learn singing professionally from anywhere.

Career
Starting her career with acting, Sarah played roles in several kids’ shows such as ‘Pen-Pen De Sarapen’ and ‘NEXT’ as a kid and played a very small role in a movie ‘Sarah.... Ang Munting Prinsesa’. Her big break came in the year 2002, when she participated in ‘Star for a Night’, a big singing talent hunt show and she emerged out as a winner. As prize, she got 1 million PHP and a contract with Viva Entertainment, a big music label.
In the very next year, Sarah’s first album ‘Popstar: A Dream Come True’ came out and turned out to be a moderate success. The critics praised her fresh approach to singing along with her confidence level. Around that time, she started hosting TV shows and did a few films such as ‘Masikip Sa Dibdib’ and ‘Lastikman: Unang Banat’ in 2004. Later that year, Sarah’s second album ‘Sweet Sixteen’ released and it became popular among the teenagers. Concerts followed and more people started appreciating the raw talent that housed the young starlet.
Amidst her musical endeavours, her TV stints kept coming in form of ‘SCQ Reload’, ‘Little Big Star’ and ‘Bituing Walang Ningning’ and she also provided her vocals for the latter one as a singer. In 2006, came her third studio album titled ‘Becoming’ and the next year, Sarah did her very first solo concert ‘In Motion’. The rest of 2007 was spent touring around the USA and Philippines.
In 2008, Sarah released a single from her next album ‘I’ll be There’ and appeared in a romantic film with John Cruz titled ‘A Very Special love’. The film was a blockbuster and turned out to be one of the highest grossing Filipino films of the decade and it also included a song from Sarah’s next album ‘Just Me’. The album was subsequently released in 2008 and included a song which was done in collaboration with Backstreet Boys. The album achieved platinum status upon its release.
She re-released ‘Just me’ with slight changes and the concert DVDs of the album also became massive success. In 2009, Sarah starred in the sequel of ‘A Very Special Love’ with John Cruz titled ‘You Changed my Life’. The film released to critical and commercial acclaim and slowly earned enough to become the top grossing film in Philippines history.
She got busy with touring from mid 2009 to 2010 and received positive response from the audiences and critics and in October 2009, she came up with an album titled ‘Your Christmas Girl’. ‘Music and Me’ was her next studio album and both the albums went on to attain the platinum status. In December 2009, Sarah received a star on Philippines Walk of Fame, and in 2010, she appeared in the film ‘Hating Kapatid’.
In November 2011, Sarah signed a contract with ABS-CBN for featuring in concerts and movies. For the movie ‘Catch me, I’m in Love’, she received the honour of Princess of Filipino movies by the critics after gathering the box office results of the movie. In late 2012, Sarah received several awards such as ‘Best Asian Artist Award’ and ‘MNet Asian Music Awards’.
At the ‘World Music Awards’ in the year 2013, Sarah was nominated in three different categories, including Best live act and Best female artist. The same year, her film ‘It takes a Man and a Woman’ broke all the previous box office records and became the highest grossing Filipino film of all times. She became brand ambassador of Toyota in 2014 and in the same year, she released a studio album titled ‘Perfectly Imperfect’ and won an award at the ‘MTV Europe Asia Award’ for the Best Southeast Asia Act.
Awards, endorsements, films and concerts kept flowing in and Sarah started making her mark in the international music scene as well. In early 2016, Big Apple Music Awards nominated her for the Best Filipino Female Artist category. In the Classic Rock Awards 2016 held in Tokyo, Sarah won the award for Best Asian Performer of the Year.
Personal Life
Sarah Geronimo has been linked with John Cruz, her co-star in two most successful films of her career. Presently, she is dating Matteo Guidicelli.
Sarah holds concerts from time to time in order to save funds for the cancer patients and children.
Whenever she is free, she likes to spend time with her family and says that she is totally a family person.
