Raven Symone is an American actress, noted child actor during her time, singer, model and occasional talk show host. Symone started off as a child model and appeared for some of the biggest brands in the United States even before she was 10 years old; as a result it was not long before she got to act in films. She acted with legendary comedian Bill Cosby in one of his films and since then she has never looked back. On the other hand, she is also a singer of rare talent who has produced four albums of her own that have gone on to become bestsellers; in fact she published her first album at the age of 10. She has acted in both the ‘Dr. Doolittle’ movies which are regarded as classics of the genre, however, it was her role as Raven Baxter in the Disney show ‘That’s So Raven’ that really made her i the mega star that she went on to become and for a long time the show was one of the most popular shows ever produced by Disney. Symone is rightly regarded as one of the most celebrated child artists who also went on to become a famous actress, singer and model.

Childhood & Early Life
Raven Symone Christine Pearman was born to Christopher Pearman and Lydia Pearman in Atlanta, Georgia on 10 December 1985. Symone’s parents encouraged her in her quest to become model when she was still a child by registering with an agency that specialised in child models.
The family did not live in Atlanta for long and in 1988 they moved to Ossining in New York. By the time she arrived in New York as a toddler she had already worked with the New York City based Ford Models for brands like Jell-O, Cool Whip and others.
Raven Symone studied at the Park School located in New York but right from the time she was a child she had become a sought after child artist. In 1989, Symone appeared in the hugely popular ‘The Cosby Show’ hosted by Bill Cosby and remained with the show till the series finale in 1992. .
When Raven Symone was only 7 years old she started her career as a singer and in fact went to Missy Elliott for lessons. In the year 1993 Symone released her first album titled ‘Here’ To New Dreams’ and two of the songs became particularly popular. Her transformation a a child star is complete.

Career
In 1993, Raven Symone was cast in the show ‘Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper’ and she remained in the popular show till 1997. During the same time she also acted in the film ‘The Little Rascals’.
In 1998, Raven Symone was cast in her first big budget Hollywood film ‘Dr. Dolittle’ alongside Eddie Murphy in the role of Charisse Doolittle; the film was a success. In the same year he another film ‘Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century’ was also release. In 2001, she starred in the sequel ‘Dr. Doolittle 2’ that was a commercial success as well.
In 1999, Symone released her album ‘Undeniable’. The album was a moderate success and in order to support the album, she went on tour as the opening act for fellow Jive artist 'N Sync's ‘The 'N Sync Tour’ in 1998-99.
The biggest break of her career came in 2003, when she was cast as Raven Baxter in the Disney show ‘That’s So Raven’. The show became hugely popular and during its four and half year run the show garnered the highest ratings that a Disney show had ever achieved at the time. She appeared in the Disney movie ‘The Cheetah Girls’ in the same year and the following year Symone released her music album ‘This is My Life’.
In 2006, Raven Symone appeared in the movie ‘For One Night’ that dealt with racial segregation in prom nights and in the same year she was cast in the sequel ‘The Cheetah Girls 2’ which was a huge success. T
In 2008, she released her music album ‘Raven-Symone’ and in the same year she starred in the film ‘College Road Trip’ in which she played the lead role.
Raven Symone was cast in the role of Joanna Garcia in the 2010 TV movie ‘Revenge of the Bridesmaids’ by ABC and the film was widely appreciated by critics as well as viewers. The following year she was cast as the led character in the ABC show ‘State of Georgia’ but the show was cancelled after the first season. Over the next few years she appeared in some cameo roles and also announced that she was going to release another album.
