Rainey Qualley is an American singer, actress and model who is the daughter of actress Andie MacDowell and former model Paul Qualley. She was named 'Miss Golden Globe 2012', an honor usually given to the offspring of a celebrity by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the awards. In 2012, Rainey made her film debut by appearing alongside her mother in 'Mighty Fine'. Since then, she has worked in the films 'Falcon Song', 'Perfect' and 'Ocean's Eight'. She has appeared in TV series such as 'Cedar Cove' and 'Mad Men', while her short film credits include 'Pink & Baby Blue', 'No Other Like You' and 'Samice'. In 2015, she made her debut in music with the country album 'Turn Down the Lights'. She later released singles, such as 'S.I.D. (Sunshine in December)', 'Too Close', and 'Sweet Spot' under the stage name, 'Rainsford'.

Rise to Stardom
Rainey Qualley attracted media attention quite early in her life as she often accompanied her actress mother to various events and award shows of the entertainment industry. As a young adult, Rainey moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in singing. However, she was also interested in acting. Therefore, she often split her time between Los Angeles and Nashville to be able to pursue both singing and acting. In late 2011, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association named her 'Miss Golden Globe 2012', which gave her further exposure in the industry and foreshadowed her upcoming acting career. A few months later, she made her movie debut with 'Mighty Fine', a drama-comedy film in which her mother played her reel-mother. Rainey’s singing career also flourished side-by-side as she performed 'Stand By Me' in an episode of the television series 'Cedar Cove', in which her mother starred in the lead role.

Rainey Qualley continued her acting career by appearing in the 2014 short film, 'Pink & Baby Blue'. She the played the lead role in 'Falcon Song', a contemporary western fantasy movie which released the same year. In April 2015, she essayed the role of a model in an episode of the award-winning drama series, 'Mad Men'. In June that year, she made her music debut with the country-themed album 'Turn Down the Lights', which was produced by Russ Zavitson, written by John Ramey, and released by Cingle Records. Recorded in Nashville, the album contained seven tracks, which were received favorably by the audience. She relocated from Nashville to Los Angeles the following year, and re-emerged on the music scene with 'S.I.D. (Sunshine in December)', a sultry electropop with R&B-influenced vocals, under the stage name of 'Rainsford'. It was followed by the 80s-leaning pop anthem, 'Too Close', which was released in the fall of 2016. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day in 2017, she collaborated with her then-boyfriend and 'Swimsuit Issue' vocalist Miles Garber for the romantic duet 'Sweet Spot'. She played the lead role in the short film 'No Other Like You' (2016), but shifted her focus back to music and started working on her 'Rainsford' debut EP.

Rainey Qualley was born on March 11, 1989, in New York City, the United States, and was raised in Missoula, Montana and Asheville, North Carolina. Her mother Andie MacDowell is an actress and former model, while her father Paul Qualley is also a former model. She is the middle child of her parents and has an elder brother named Justin Qualley and a younger sister named Margaret Qualley. Margaret is known for her role as Jill Garvey in the HBO TV series 'The Leftovers'. Rainey began dancing at the age of two, and later became interested in singing and acting. To hone her acting skills, she first attended Maggie Flanigan Studio, where she learnt Sanford Meisner's drama technique, and later took lessons at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She has a mixed ethnicity and has ancestors of Norwegian, English, French, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Belgian, and Dutch origin.
Rainey Qualley was in a relationship with Miles Garber, who is the vocalist for the band 'Swimsuit Issue' and a model. In May 2016, the couple appeared in a feature on the Teen Vogue's website, showcasing their wardrobe collection for music festivals during that summer. During the interview, she revealed that they were "both goofy and weird and sensitive, and need multiple creative outlets to stay happy and sane." Just as Rainey followed her mother’s footsteps into acting, Miles also was inspired by his mother who was passionate about music. The couple lived together in Los Angeles, where she had spent some of her childhood. However, according to a report by 'W Magazine', the couple is no longer together.
