Lily Aldridge was born on 15th November 1985 in Los Angeles in a family deeply rooted in the fashion industry. Her father, Alan Aldridge, is a successful artist while her mother happened to be a Playboy model, named Laura Lyons. Her half-sister, Saffron Aldridge, happened to be the cover face of Ralph Lauren for many years in the 90s while her half-brother, Miles Aldridge, is a prominent fashion photographer.

Career

Being from a family with close ties to the modelling world, Lily started-off easy at the age of 16, and it wasn’t very hard for her to grab some initial modelling assignments. She started with print modelling and was hired by Abercrombie & Fitch and her initial modelling assignments include GAP, Tommy Hilfiger, Charles David, Levi’s, Bobby Brown and J. Brand.

Vogue magazine has always been the prominent name in the fashion world and Lily got the chance the very next year owing to her magnetic charm and gorgeous build. She appeared on the cover of Spanish Vogue in 2003 and since then, she has appeared on the covers of several magazines such as French Glamour, Vogue Mexico, Elle Korea, Elle Brazil, 10 Magazine and Allure Russia among others.

Lily has also featured for the spring collection of the Rag & Bone clothing company and also served as a photographer and surprisingly, her photographs were good enough for her to consider a career in fashion photography once she gets done with modelling. Her other print ads include the clothing company XOXO and the skincare company Proactiv, which she joined in 2014.

She has also featured in the editorials of several Vogue issues (American, French, German, British, Mexican) and Elle (Korean, American, Australian), Harper’s Bazaar, Love, V, W and Marie Claire. In the Swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated in 2014, Lily reached another milestone in her career as she appeared on the cover for the magazine’s 50th anniversary alongside Chrissy Tiegen and Nina Agdal.

However, no feat in her successful career could match the achievement of becoming a Victoria’s Secret model when she was hired to walk the ramp for the 2009 edition of the highly regarded fashion show in the world. She graduated to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel in the following year and continued her association for the years to come. In 2015, Lily wore the highly awaited Fireworks Fantasy Bra. The bra carried a value of 2 Million dollars and was created by Mouawad. The show was held in New York in December 2015.

Apart from Victoria’s Secret, she has been a regular face of British GQ and appeared on the February 2011 edition and within a few weeks, she was seen in the V magazine’s editorial. She, along with other models, was featured in British Vogue for the 2014 October edition.

Lily’s other ventures include several music videos. She made a cameo in 2000 music video of Limp Bizkit’s song ‘Break Stuff’, which also featured some mega rap stars such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. Her 2015 music video for Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ received millions of hits on the YouTube and she was praised for her portrayal of an assassin in the video. She was also seen in the videos of ‘Temple’ and ‘Use Somebody’ for Kings of Leon.

Personal Life

In her private time, Lily likes to watch and play football and spend time with her family and friends. She is an avid traveller and frequently makes trips to Australia, which she maintains is her favourite tourist spot in the world.

Lily Aldridge met Caleb Followill during a music festival in 2007 and they started dating. Their long-term relationship reached the next level in 2011, when the couple got married in California. In the next year, Lily gave birth to a daughter which the couple named Dixie Pearl Followill. Before Caleb, Lily had a long history of relationships with several men such as David Katzenberg and band Incubus’s Mike Einziger.
