K Michelle began her music career in 2009 by signing a deal with Jive Records. After this, she released her first single ‘Fakin' It’ that captured attention from the urban audience. The following year, she released three singles, namely ‘Fallin', ‘How Many Times’ and ‘I Just Can't Do This’ which peaked at numbers 56, 53 and 53 respectively on US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In 2012, the American R&B singer starred in the reality show ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’. She signed a contract with Atlantic Records and simultaneously started working on her debut album. On May 20, 2013 the album’s lead single ‘V.S.O.P’ came out; its music video was released in June. After this, K Michelle released her first studio album named ‘Rebellious Soul’ in August of that year. This album was extremely successful and it debuted at number 1 on US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 2 on US Billboard 200 chart.
In 2014, the singing star released her album ‘Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart?’ She also joined Robin Thicke for the ‘Blurred Lines Tour’ the same year. K Michelle started her own TV show ‘K. Michelle: My Life’ around that time. This show premiered in November 2014. The following year, she collaborated with Keyshia Cole for ‘My Twisted Mind Tour’. The major purpose of this tour was to promote her reality show as well as Cole's album. During the year 2015, K Michelle also became a part of reality shows ‘Love & Hip Hop Live: The Wedding’, ‘Punk'd’ and ‘L.A. Hair’.
On January 21, 2016, the singer released the lead single titled ‘Not a Little Bit’ from her third studio album named ‘More Issues Than Vogue’. This track was first released on Michelle’s YouTube channel and then on iTunes. The following month, the album’s first promo single ‘Ain't You’ came out. The same year, K Michelle joined the cast of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ for the show’s fifth season. On February 3, 2017, the American star released her single ‘Got Me Crazy’ alongside Rick Ross, DJ Feezy, and Fabolous.

Personal Life
K Michelle was born on March 4, 1982 in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Overton High School and graduated in 2000. Then she joined Florida A&M University on a scholarship. The same year, she was named as Freshman Attendant of the Homecoming Court.
In September 2004, she delivered a baby boy whose father later got married to her sorority sister. During the beginning of her career, K Michelle got into a close association with a man nicknamed Memphitz. According to some reports, this man worked at Jive Records and he used to physically abuse the singer. After splitting from Memphitz, K Michelle began her relationship with Kastan Sims. It is also in the news that she was previously in a relationship with NBA shooting guard J.R. Smith.
K Michelle once kindled controversy for getting silicone butt implants, and later for removing them.
