She is especially known for her lead role in the Lifetime television film ‘Kept Woman.’ A highly popular actress today, all the fame, fortune, and recognition that Ford enjoys are hard won. Her journey to fame hasn’t been an easy one. When Courtney Ford thought of pursuing a career in acting, little did she anticipate that the road that she has chosen wouldn’t be an easy one! The first ten years of her career marked a period of struggle as Ford found it hard not just to find work, but also make a reputation for herself. Though she was talented, finding work that gave her an opportunity to exploit her skills to the fullest was difficult. She made guest appearances in several shows including ‘How I Met Your Mother’ during the initial years. Interestingly, life turned around completely for Ford while she was on her way to what she considered her last audition before finally ceasing to work as an actress.
Courtney Ford bagged the role of reporter Christine Hill in the Showtime’s television series ‘Dexter’ and with it, started her glorious journey of life as an actress. Her somewhat stagnant career got a steady push as her character earned her rave reviews and a huge fan following. Almost immediately thereafter, Ford bagged the role of Portia Bellefleur in the super hit HBO series ‘True Blood’ which was in its fourth season. Following this, she proved her versatility by taking up guest roles in several hit television series including ‘Grey's Anatomy’, ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘CSI: NY’, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Hawaii Five-0’. Ford got recurring roles in the television series ‘Parenthood’, ‘Murder in the First’, ‘Revenge’ and the recent ‘Supernatural’. Television apart, she has done several films as well, including ‘Alien Raiders’, ‘Fling’, and ‘Sironia’. She also gave voice for the video games series ‘Gears of War’ and ‘Fallout 4’.

Personal Life
Courtney Ford was born on June 27, 1978 in Huntington Beach, California. Not much is known about her personal life or her family except for the fact that she is a stepsister of Roberto Orci and J.R. Orci. Having a passion for acting from a young age, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the field. Ford received training in the Strasberg Method and studied with Andrew Magarian and Lesly Kahn. It was during her tenure as an actress that Ford first met the new ‘Superman’ actor Brandon Routh. The two hit it off instantly and became officially engaged on August 23, 2006. They eventually got married on November 24, 2007 at El Captain Ranch in Santa Barbara. The couple welcomed their first child, son Leo James Routh, on August 10, 2012. Along with her family, Ford currently resides in Los Angeles. Together with Brandon, she actively supports and serves as an activist for "Service Nation".
