Career
A prodigious child, Ashley Tisdale’s tryst with the camera began at the tender age of three. A chance meeting with Bill Perlman, her future manager, at a mall led her to audition for various commercials and advertisements. Consequently, she starred in more than 100 advertisements on national network TV.
Almost immediately as she featured in commercials, Tisdale’s career in theatre also began. She first featured in ‘Gypsy: A Musical Fable’ and ‘The Sound of Music’ at Monmouth County's Jewish Community Center.
At the age of eight, she landed the role of Cosette in the musical ‘Les Misérables’. Following this, she toured for two years with ‘Les Misérables’ before landing a role in a touring production of ‘Annie’ in Korea.
Starting from the late 1990s, Tisdale did several minor roles in television shows including ‘The Hughleys’, ‘Smart Guy’, ‘7th Heaven’, ‘Boston Public’ and ‘Bette.’ She even did a couple of films such as ‘A Bug’s Life’ and ‘Donnie Darko’. Additionally, she also modelled for Ford Models.
Ashley Tisdale starred as a teenage candy-counter girl in the television series ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’, which premiered in 2005. Running until September 2008, the series won Tisdale her first independent award.
In 2006, she played Sharpay Evans in the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘High School Musical.’ Premiered to 7.7 million people, the film became the most watched movie of the year. Its soundtrack, to which also Tisdale contributed, also became the top-selling album of the year, selling 3.7 million copies. The songs appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Tisdale the first female artist to debut with two songs simultaneously on the Hot 100 chart.
Following the stupendous success of ‘High School Musical’, she signed a record deal with Warner Bros Records and began working on her debut album ‘Headstrong.’ Released in February 2007, the album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200. ‘Headstrong’ was eventually certified gold by RIAA.
In August 2007, Ashley Tisdale reprised her role of Sharpay Evans for ‘High School Musical 2’. Premiering to 17 million viewers, it became the most watched movie on cable television. The soundtrack featuring Tisdale debuted at number one on the Billboard chart.
In 2007, she also gave voice for the character of Candace Flynn for the animated series ‘Phineas and Ferb.’ It became the most-watched animated series among kids and tweens over the years.

In 2008, Ashley Tisdale started her own production company ‘Blondie Girl Productions.’ Under the banner, the debut release ‘Picture This’ marked Tisdale’s first film both as an executive producer and leading actress. The television film was critically and commercially lauded.
In 2008, she yet again reprised her role of Sharpay Evans for the third edition of ‘High School Musical 3.’ The film was a big blockbuster, garnering $255 million at the box office. Her acting skills were highly praised both by the audience and critics alike.
Following the success of the High School Musical trilogy, she concentrated on her second studio album ‘Guilty Pleasure.’ Releasing in June 2009, the album debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200.
In 2010, Tisdale returned to broadcast television for a single season of the CW drama series ‘Hellcats.’ The same year, she did voice roles for ‘The Cleveland Show’, ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Glenn Martin, DDS’.
The same year, Ashley Tisdale’s Blondie Girl Productions signed a multiyear production deal with Relativity Media to create, develop, and produce films and television series. ‘Miss Advised’ was the first project after the deal. A reality show that followed three single relationship experts, it debuted on Bravo and lasted for one season.
In 2011, she appeared in the spin-off of the High School Musical ‘Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.’ The sequel focused on the life of Sharpay Evans after high school.
Starting from 2013, Tisdale has donned the hat of a producer several times for television special ‘Inner Circle’, Disney Channel film ‘Cloud 9’ and ABC Family comedy series ‘Young & Hungry.’ Simultaneously, she had a recurring role in ABC's sitcom ‘Super Fun Night’ and guest starred on CBS's ‘The Crazy Ones’.
She also gave voice for the animated series ‘Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch.’ For a single season, she starred on the TBS comedy series ‘Clipped.’
In December 2013, Tisdale released an independent single titled ‘You're Always Here.’ The song was an elegy about her late grandfather.

In 2006, Ashley Tisdale won the Billboard Music Awards for Soundtrack Album of the Year for ‘High School Musical.’
In 2007, she bagged the Nickelodeon UK Kids' Choice Awards for Best TV Actress for ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.’ She also won American Music Awards Soundtrack Favorite Album for ‘High School Musical 2.’
In 2009, the MTV Movie Awards presented her with Breakthrough Performance Female award for ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’. The same year, along with the cast and crew of the film, she received Teen Choice Awards for Choice: Movie Music/Dance.
In 2014, she was presented with the Young Hollywood Awards for Social Media Superstar.
