P. T. Barnum was an American politician, showman, and businessman. He is credited with founding the famous Barnum & Bailey Circus, which ran for 146 years. He is also credited with co-founding the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Steamboat Company, which is one of the oldest American ferry companies. His life and work have inspired many films, including The Greatest Showman.

Affectionately called Sho Time and the Japanese Babe Ruth, Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani is known for his successful stint with the MLB team Los Angeles Angels. Earlier, while with the Hokkaido-Nippon Ham Fighters, he set the record for the fastest-ever pitch thrown by a Japanese player.

An actress best known for her role in the HBO series The Sopranos, Edie Falco is a multiple-award-winning performer. Born to parents who were working in the entertainment industry, she started acting in school plays when she was a kid. She eventually took up roles in TV shows and films. She is a vegan and the mother of two children.

South Korean actor and singer, Ji Chang-wook, is best known for playing the lead role of Dong-hae in the daily drama series, Smile Again. P. V. Sindhu is an Indian badminton player. In 2016, she won the Olympic silver medal in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the first Indian woman to receive an Olympic silver. Sindhu became a national icon following her performance in the 2016 Olympics. In January 2020, she was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award.

Canadian musician, songwriter, and film composer Robbie Robertson became popular following his association as lead guitarist and songwriter with the rock group, The Band. He is credited for playing a key role in popularizing the Americana music genre. He also had a successful career as a solo artist. As a film composer, he has often collaborated with director Martin Scorsese.

Nardwuar the Human Serviette is a Canadian musician and interviewer. He was a founding member of the popular garage rock band The Evaporators where he currently serves as the keyboardist and lead singer. As an interviewer Nardwuar is renowned for his unorthodox approach and bizarre questions. In 2019, he was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Yeon Woo-jin’s poor grades in high school cut short his dreams of being an architect, as he was more involved with his school’s film club. Starting out as a model, he later gained fame with the historical drama Arang and the Magistrate and the romantic-comedy series Marriage, Not Dating.

Georges Pompidou was a French politician whose tenure as prime minister of France between 1962 and 1968 was the longest in the history of France. From 1969 to 1974, Pompidou served as president of France. He is credited with mending France's relationship with the US and maintaining positive relations with many other countries.

His notable works includes in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire that won him two Screen Actors Guild Awards; The Pillowman play that won him a Drama Desk Award besides a Tony Award nomination; and films like Lincoln. 

Once a global sensation as part of the globally successful Irish boy band Westlife, Shane Filan later launched a solo career with tracks such as Everything to Me. He has also scripted history as one of the Irish singers with the most number-one hits on the UK Singles chart.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was an Indian investor and businessman. One of the richest businessmen in India, Jhunjhunwala was referred to as the King of Bull Market and the Warren Buffett of India. He served as the chairman of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd and Aptech Limited. He was a promoter of India's newest airline, Akasa Air. 

Stamford Raffles was a British statesman who served as the Lieutenant-Governor of the Dutch East Indies from 1811 to 1816. From 1818 to 1824, he served as the Lieutenant-Governor of Bencoolen. Raffles is best remembered for founding the Straits Settlements and modern Singapore. He also played a major role in the invasion of Java in 1811 during the Napoleonic Wars.

Chinese actor-model Chen Xiao is best known for his roles in series such as The Romance of the Condor Heroes and Swordsman. Not known to many, he had made his debut at 10, with the series Our Class Song. The father of one is married to his co-star Michelle Chen.

French designer Hedi Slimane began his career as a marketing assistant at Yves Saint Laurent. His menswear silhouettes earned him a CFDA International Designer Award. He now works with the luxury brand Celine. He is also a skilled photographer and has released several photo books and worked for several magazines.

Following his 6-year stint with Liverpool, Croatian footballer Dejan Lovren has now moved to Russia to captain Zenit Saint Petersburg. He spent his early childhood in the war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina and then escaped to Germany and eventually to Croatia. He led Croatia to the 2018 FIFA World Cup final.

Born in Iran, footballer Ashkan Dejagah moved to Germany as a toddler and grew up to play for German youth teams. However, he later represented the Iranian national team. His achievements include a Bundesliga win with Wolfsburg and a UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship win with the German Under-21 team.
